Media figure Moufid Fawzy said that Abdel-Halim Hafez had been secretly married to Soad Hosny (the statement was made in the late 1990s), while her sister Ganga completely denied it. However, years later she returned to confirm it, even producing a marriage document (on Program: 10 PM with presenter Wael El-Ebrashy on September 7, 2016). At the same time, the family of artist Abdel-Halim Hafez publicly denied it. Artist Hassan Youssef also confirmed the marriage.
She died in London under mysterious circumstances.
