He joined the Radio Musical Troupe as an oboe player in 1950.
He resigned from teaching music in 1959.
Together with musician Muhammad Abdel-Wahab and cinematographer Wahid Farid, he founded the production company "Sawt El Fan".
He sang about 300 songs, patriotic anthems, and poems for most composers.
Media figure Moufid Fawzy said that Abdel-Halim Hafez had been secretly married to Soad Hosny (the statement was at the end of the 1990s), while her sister Ganga completely rejected this. However, she later returned and confirmed it years afterward, and even produced a marriage document (on Program: 10 PM with media figure Wael El-Ebrashy on September 7, 2016). At the same time, the family of the artist Abdel-Halim Hafez rejected this in the media. The artist Hassan Youssef also confirmed the marriage.
