His sister Mariam Fakhr Al-Din pushed him to enter the field of art.
Among his recurring roles were the handsome young man and romantic ladies' man, or the frivolous young man.
The artist suffered severe depression after the death of his wife Nadia Seif Al-Nasr in an accident in Lebanon, and as a result decided to step away from art and travel abroad.
He settled in Greece.
He returned to Egypt in 1997 on a brief visit to check on his sister's health.
