Trivia (9)
Samir Sabry said in more than one interview that this was the first Arabic film with scenes shot underwater.
Based on the story The Depths by American writer Thornton Wilder (as stated in the credits).
Filming locations: Hurghada - Hurghada Airport.
The cap Hassan wears says "Niagara falls" in English.
Hassan's fishing equipment rental shop name: Merry Marine.
Semsema is currently with her ninth fiancé, followed by her tenth fiancé, Mombasi from Kenya.
Hassan and Ali's dog is named "Mizo".
In the opening shots, we see Hassan and Hala at Sindbad amusement park in Cairo. In one shot, the name of the flying carpet ride appears in the background misspelled in English as "flaying carpet" in large illuminated letters; some recent photos of the amusement park suggest the error was later corrected (the correct spelling is flying carpet).
The prince's yacht is named "Coral queen".
Goofs (12)
The plot has several errors. For example, at the beginning of the film we see Hala's Father's Man trying to kill Hassan merely to prevent him from marrying Hala. The diamond smuggler examines the contents of the diamond box facing the cabin door without making sure the door is closed. At the end of the film, Al-Prince, the head of an international smuggling gang, is helpless against Hareedy and two of his aides, who manage to smuggle Hala and Ali off Al-Prince's yacht in an almost comic confrontation. We see The Colonel, in the confrontation with Zaki, relying on Hassan understanding the situation and acting and shooting well even though he is a civilian. Finally, Hassan kills Zaki without fearing for His Son, whom Zaki was holding above the rock before falling into the water.
From the uniforms of the forces that storm Al-Prince's yacht to arrest him, they appear to be army ground forces, whereas the expected force would be the coast guard.
The sounds of some fights are unrealistic, such as the sound of a spear being fired underwater.
When Hassan pours fuel into the sea to set the water surface behind his launch on fire, the water actually catches fire and causes the launches following him to explode, even though the way he pours the fuel and then tries to ignite it could not possibly work, given that the launch is moving very fast and Hassan relies on matches for the ignition.
Some of the dialogue does not match the mouth movements.
The word BANKRUPTCY is misspelled on the computer as BANKCRUPSY.
