 When Amna looks from the kitchen door at The Engineer and The Maid, the position of her face as she looks through the doorway differs between the first shot from behind and the following shot from the front.

 When Khadiga looks through the keyhole at the sitting room, she can see seven people sitting next to one another, which is illogical; she could not see that many people, with the spaces between them, through a keyhole alone.

 When Amna first talks with Zannouba in her room, one shot shows Amna leaning on the bedpost with her shoulder, but in the next shot she is leaning on it with her back and head.

 When Amna asks A Vendor about Khadiga and her engagement, the camera moves closer to The Vendor from behind, and the camera's shadow falls over the man, covering the sunlight on him.

 Comparing the opening scenes of the film with the same shots repeated midway through, several differences are noticeable, including changes in the lighting around the candlestick; the position of The Engineer's hand on the candlestick; the lighting and extinguishing of the match; the position of his hand as he gives Amna the match (high in the first version, farther away and lower in the second); Amna's headscarf and the hair showing from behind; the way Amna holds the candlestick (in the first shot she starts with her left hand, while in the second she uses both hands); the way Amna lights the match; the way The Engineer holds Amna's hand (by the palm in the first version, by the wrist in the second); how close The Engineer is to Amna (he is farther away in the first); the way The Engineer blows out the match (from a distance in the first, while in the second he bends over her hand and blows it out); differences in the delivery of the dialogue; differences in how The Engineer holds Amna in the room; and Amna's escape and closing of her room door (in the first she closes the door facing the camera, while in the second her face is not toward the camera at the moment she shuts it).

 In the first shot of The Engineer in bed, the position of the blanket over him differs between the mirror shot and the following shot.
