At a time when the international Egyptian star Omar Sharif was earning more than $300,000 per project, he agreed to a fee of only 2,500 Egyptian pounds for this film as a way of supporting cinema and television films. Many had ruled out the possibility of him accepting that fee, but the artist Mamdouh Al-Leithy managed to secure Omar Sharif's approval after sending him the screenplay.
