The artist Inas Al-Deghedy said the film was originally offered to Adel Imam, but she heard that he refused to work with her because she was a woman who would be directing him. It was then sent to Ahmad Zaky, who initially refused, so she offered it to Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, who also refused before Ahmad Zaky was informed, until the latter was finally convinced to accept the film.
Inas Al-Deghedy and Ahmad Zaky fell out for a week or more during work on the film. She would ask her assistant to convey what she wanted to the actor, until Naglaa Fathy reconciled them.
